Wilmslow Town Centre Redevelopement
Whilst the Cricket Club supports any initiatives to improve local services and recognises the advantages for example of consolidating those services/buildings and developing partnerships, the club does need to look after its interests. The club has invested a considerable amount of time, money and effort in preserving this green space in the centre and ensuring its use for competitive cricket at both junior and senior level. In the latter case for over 60 years.

The 2011 season concluded with a superb dinner and presentation evening attended by over 100 club members.

Awards were given for best averages, leading wicket and run makers. There were 5 winners of the Century Cup, Elliot Rowe took the league batting average and Rob Hart the GMACL's most promising junior. The 'Cricketer of the Year' Award went  to Jegadeesh 'Jags' Narayaran.

Highlights of the season were the 2nd XI's runner up spot and promotion to Div 4 of the Cheshire Alliance and the U15's topping the High Peak League.

A 2011 Mid Season Report.

The 2011 Season has seen two new captains and a long awaited change in fortune. But it is the League winning U15's that show the way

The 2010 Player of the season Jay Patel, who at 19 must be the clubs youngest ever 1st team captain has led the revival. During June and July, 5 wins were registered out of the 7 games played. Whilst a promotion push is perhaps unrealistic, there is a belief in this young squad of players that they will be good enough next season to launch a very serious challenge for honours.

A challenge for promotion is certainly on the cards for Pat Hart's 2nd XI. Hindered by two abandonments, they sit in 3rd position in what is a 3 horse race within 10 points of top spot.

On the playing side, Elliot Rowe, Rob Herriott, Steve Fulker and Simon Maynard have all hit hundreds. Tom Rowe has a PB and seasons best 7 for 45.

The highlight this season must however  be the U15's who robbed of a semi final place in the Cheshire Cup (fixture congestion), took the Hi Peak League Title.  the future looks good as many of these guys have already debuted and play major roles in senior cricket.

Well done Lads!

On the Club side we now have covers! A major purchase for a small club, but a statement of intent nonetheless.  Thanks to everyone especially Gerald for getting this organised.
